The Rock Engineering Laboratory at Missouri University of Science and Technology is seeking a postdoctoral scholar in the areas of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering. We seek a candidate with a research interest in numerical, statistical, and probabilistic modeling in geomechanics, field instrumentation, fracture mechanics, rock mass characterization, and laboratory testing. The expected starting date for the appointment is January 2021. The appointment is for one year with the possibility of extension based on the candidate’s satisfactory performance and funding availability.
The research efforts will focus on Improvement of Coal Pillar Rib Rating (CPRR) System using empirical and numerical simulation techniques to minimize rib failure hazards in underground coal mines.
