Mohr Academy is an educational platform providing online and in-person courses in different engineering disciplines including civil, petroleum, geotechnical, geomechanics, and environmental engineering. Mohr Academy is dedicated to providing high-quality courses taught by first-rate instructors with significant experiences in both academia and industry. 
We are a registered educational firm based in St. Louis, Missouri. Although we are based in the United States, we have had students from various countries and from different regions including North America, Asia, Middle East, and Europe. Our goal is to share technical knowledge and high-end computational skills to students and engineers around the globe. Our faculties are well-known professionals with extensive experiences in their field of expertise. Our Inspiration

Our academy name and our logo are inspired by Christian Otto Mohr (1835-1918) and his substantial contributions to the field of structural and civil engineering including Mohr’s Circle and his studies in stress. He was a German civil engineer and a professor of mechanics at Stuttgart Polytechnic and Dresden Polytechnic. In addition to his contributions to stress concept and Mohr’s Circle, he formalized the idea of a statically indeterminate structure. 
In 1882, he famously developed the graphical method for analyzing stress known as Mohr’s circle and used it to propose an early theory of strength based on shear stress. He also developed the Williot-Mohr diagram for truss displacements and the Maxwell-Mohr method for analyzing statically indeterminate structures.
 

Methodology

Based on the needs of our students and the course demand in the engineering community we develop and present courses in different formats. The course formats we currently present include:
• Online synchronous: Live courses are provided by our instructors in online educational platforms such as Zoom. 
• Online asynchronous: Online courses provided by our instructors which students are able to access the course material offline and asynchronously.
• In-person courses and workshops: Workshops, short courses, and seminars are provided by our instructors in different conferences and cities in the US and abroad. 
• Customized corporate training: Based on the needs of our clients, we provide customized corporate training to employees and engineers.

Highlighted Professors 

Siavash Zamiran, Ph.D., P.E., M.ASCE
Dr. Zamiran is a geotechnical and geomechanics engineer with over ten years of industry and academic experience in different geotechnical and petroleum engineering disciplines. Currently, Dr. Zamiran is a Senior Project Engineer at MEA Inc. and an adjunct professor at Missouri University- Rolla. 
Shadi Salahshoor, Ph.D.
Dr. Shadi Salahshoor is currently engaged in developing advanced technologies and asset management strategies for unconventional formations at GTI. She is a reservoir engineer by background with extensive experience in reservoir evaluation, characterization and modeling.
Alireza Khatibi, Ph.D.
Dr. Khatibi is a petroleum engineer with four years of work experience on seismic data interpretation. He is a machine learning aspirant. Dr. Khatibi pursued his Ph.D. in petroleum engineering from the University of North Dakota and became a postdoctoral researcher at University of Texas at Austin.
